While I have been cooking a very long time, I have rarely ventured into the realm of Mediterranean cooking outside of southern Italian cuisine -- and mostly those with tomato-based saices, at that. So, this is my "helping hand" as I begin expanding my horizons.When I first opened the cardboard jar, I was pleasantly surprised at the power of the aroma of the spices. I wasn't expecting that from a cardboard container; it was sealed well and did a great job of preserving the freshness. I have only tried it in a couple of dishes so far. One was in a white bechamel over buckwheat pasta (delicious) and another was with butter on cod, oven baked to perfection (equally delicious). I am anxious to try it in other dishes. The blend of flavors seems to make it versatile to use in many kinds of dishes. A hearty salad is one thing I am especially interested in trying. Given the prices of herbs and spices these days, the how much is in the container (it's a good size) and the potency (a little goes a long way), I see this as a great value at the current asking price.

This blend just goes well with everything I put it on! I use it on my salads, marinades, beef, chicken and fish, so versatile. It has a very fresh and herbal aroma which is something I haven't found in most other stuff as they're mostly too garlicky and stale. The amount of salt is perfect as well. Its great value for only $9.99. I'll definitely buy it again.
